On Fire: The 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life

You may not be able to choose your path in life but you can always choose how you walk the path

Our lives have moments called “inflection points.” They could be positive or negative inflection points—moments when time stops and everything radically changes. It could be a sudden death, a job loss, sickness, or a new relationship, a work opportunity, a lottery etc. How you choose to react to these inflection points is more important than the moments themselves.

A tragedy can give you a clear perspective on what really matters in life and build your character, audacity, compassion, faithfulness and drive.

One moment, everything appears to be going as planned and then an explosion occurs that radically changes our lives. the COVID-19 pandemic hit different families in different ways and each has reacted in different ways.

“Life is not about avoiding death; it’s about choosing to really live.”

John O’Leary

Before the fire accident, John was a typical 9-year-old kid with a perfect life. His parents took responsibility for everything. On the day of the fire accident, things changed. His mother told him to take responsibility for his life. She asked: “Do you want to die?” He responded: “I don’t want to die. I want to live.” Then she told him: “You need to fight for it.” In that moment, he knew he had to take ownership of his life.

We often crave our former life after a tragedy strikes. However, what we need is to move forward and embrace the new reality. We need to choose to live meaningfully in the new normal instead of longing for the old normal.
