Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Life and Love from Dear SugarTiny Bea utiful Things

Know that you don’t have to be broken to be loved

Present in every human is the craving to be loved by someone special. But as many as there are who want love, the majority are afraid they won’t get it. So, when they get close, they feel unworthy. This shouldn’t be. You are worthy of the most beautiful and intimate kind of love you could get. And don’t be afraid — it’s never too much to ask for it. It’s also not crazy to fear you’ll never have it again, even though your fears are probably wrong.

Love is an essential nutrient for good living. Without it, life has very little meaning. It’s the best thing we have to give and at the same time, the most valuable thing we receive, so it’s worth all the hype.

In all the ecstasy that comes with love, people always make the mistake of thinking they have to appear broken. People think in order to get a man or woman to love them, they have to come broken and vulnerable. That is not true. You don’t have to be broken for anyone to love you.

Even though parts of you are broken, you could still be every piece of yourself and that man or woman would love you still.

⚡️Your appeal does not rely on weakness or need. It relies on everything you are and want to be.

So, be sure to bring your needy self when you go on that next date with your potential lover, complete with all your other-selves. Come with the strong one and the generous one. The one who became fatherless too young and survived a war and lost one lover to cancer and another to the challenges of a decade together, but came out wiser and more tender for it.

Come with that man or woman you once were. Bring along the one you aspire to be, the one who already has the love he or she longs for. Play every piece of yourself and play it with all you’ve got until you’re not playing anymore.

There is a divine spirit in every human. And when one lives life with integrity, compassion, and love, one can stretch towards things that otherwise would be beyond reach.
